To get an insight into the lives of over a billion people in a country in the middle of huge technological transformation: this is the goal of India in a Day. Building on the hugely successful In A Day franchise (which Tim created while at YouTube, with Life in a Day), this project turns the focus on India, and the effects of its change and evolution on the day-to-day lives of its inhabitants.
On October 10 2015 we invited anyone with a phone to contribute footage for a film to be directed by Richie Mehta, exec produced by Ridley Scott and Anurag Kashyap. The result will be the biggest crowd-sourced project in Indian history, set to launch in 2016.
Flying Object produced the outreach campaign, asking for footage from people across India: we helped develop the creative concept and strategy, project managed the development of the website, produced the launch video and interviews with the director and exec producers, and brought together the different partners on different continents to hit a tight deadline.
